About Green Credits Kenya
Green Credits Kenya is a research and data project based in Kenya. We follow carbon markets, climate-smart farming and land use, and we check planting and forest-protection claims against satellite records.
What we do
- Research. Plain-language notes on carbon markets, agroforestry, soil health and clean energy.
- Audits. We compare a site’s vegetation history from Sentinel-2 with the story told about it. See GR Verified sites.
- Advocacy. We argue for climate projects that are open about their results and work for the communities around them.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell carbon credits, we aren’t a broker, and we don’t give financial advice. Read the full terms and disclaimer.
How an audit works
We take eight years of Sentinel-2 images of a site and measure its vegetation (NDVI and EVI). Then we check whether the pattern matches the claim, such as trees growing after planting or a forest staying intact. It can’t count trees or tell species apart, and it isn’t proof on its own. Ask for an audit.
